This year KVS is organizing the 46th National Sports Meet during September – November. The events will be held in 6 centres / Regions – Jaipur, Agra, Lucknow, Patna, Ernakulam and Delhi. KVS Regional Office, Ernakulam will be organizing 4 events for girls in three age groups – under-14, under-17 and under-19. Ernakulam will be hosting the Badminton event, while Thiruvananthapuram will play host to Basketball, Volleyball and Kho-Kho. KVS is divided into 25 Regions and all of these Regions will send their contingents to participate in every event named above. Approximately 2175 students are expected to participate in various events held in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam from 26th to 30th October, 2015.
It is noteworthy to mention that the children who participate in the National Sports Meet have already gone through various levels of competition i.e. School level, Cluster level and Regional level competitions before getting selected to represent their Region in the National Sports Meet. The competition does not end there. The students who win medals in the National Sports Meet get to represent KVS State in the SGFI Meet (School Games Federation of India) organized every year. It is indeed heartening to mention that many KV students from Kerala participated in SGFI Meet in the previous years.
Besides promoting the students’ talents in sports and games, the KVS National Sports Meet also serves to promote the cause of National Integration as the youth representing all parts of India will be staying and mingling together, while participating in the events with the true spirit of competition and sportsmanship.
