Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a pace-setting autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, which runs more than 1100 schools in various parts of the country and abroad. KVS believes in all round development of children with an emphasis not only on the academic side but also on the co-scholastic side . Hence, the KVS scheme provides various opportunities to the students to explore their talents in the field of scholastics and co-scholastics, such as Social Science Exhibition, National Integration Camp, Children’s Science Congress, Maths and Science Olympiad, sports and games, literary and cultural activities etc. Sports and games is of paramount importance in KVS and it is evident from the way regular coaching is imparted to students in various events, right from the primary classes to the higher secondary classes by the physical education teachers and coaches appointed by each school, fully utilizing the various sports facilities available in the school premises.

KVS Ernakulam Region
KVS Ernakulam Region, newly constituted in April 2012 and one among the 25 Regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
Located in the beautiful landscape of KOCHI, popularly known as ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’, the region has 39 Kendriya Vidyalayas under its jurisdiction including 37 KVs of Kerala, ‘God’s own country’ along with KV Mahe in Union Territory of Puduchery and KV Kavaratti in Lakshadeep Islands. The region caters to educational needs of around 50,000 students and around 1500 employees are working for the organization as on 01.10.2012.
